Cozy Up Around the FireJuly 10, 2018, 7:25 am

fireplace and fire pit

While it might be too warm for your indoor fireplace, you can still cozy up around an outdoor fire. Nothing beats roasting marshmallows over a fire pit or watching the sun go down by an outdoor fireplace on a cool summer night.

At TenderCare, we custom design beautiful and affordable outdoor fireplaces and fire pits to match each person’s style. Our designers will create everything from an intricate, eye-catching fireplace to a simple, streamlined fire pit. We offer a variety of bricks, stones, crushed rock and a combination of materials to choose from, and we will work within the confines of your backyard or patio to build the perfect size and shape to complement your space.

Best of all, an outdoor fireplace or fire pit extends the time you can use your patio or backyard! When the crisp, cool weather of autumn arrives, you’ll still be able to enjoy the warmth of your outdoor fireplace or fire pit.

Make the Most of Your Small BackyardJune 19, 2018, 8:39 am

make the most of a small backyard

City living comes with smaller backyards, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice beauty or entertainment! At TenderCare Lawn and Landscape, our designers will work with you to determine the perfect solution for your space.

A small backyard can be maximized through simplification. Consider using outdoor furniture made of a lightweight, less bulky frame, built-in seating, and a hidden storage option. In addition, choose plants that are easy to manage and tall and narrow rather than large and wide. Plants like ivy and vines along your walls or fence will add greenery without sacrificing room in your backyard.

Another way to add appeal to a small backyard is by changing the elevation. Adding steps or an elevated platform can create added interest and an extra outdoor “room” to make the space seem larger.

You can also play to your smaller space by enclosing the area. Use vertical plantings or install a pergola to create more privacy and intimacy. Your backyard will feel more like an extension of your home and bring a coziness that you can’t get with a large backyard.

Finally, choose great lighting to illuminate your space. Sconces can highlight specific areas without taking up much room, and string lighting can add warmth to an enclosed space.
